Fine Art
Burstow and Hewett have held a specialist Fine Art sale every month for over 40 years, and although the art market and fashion has changed, there is still a high demand for good pictures, and a growing number of investors and collectors battling each other to buy them.
The market for Victorian watercolours, prints and oil paintings in general is a fraction of what it was 20 years ago, and the current trend is for 20th century art, design and sculpture. There is also a good local market for Sussex artists such as Fred Cuming, whose works feature regularly in our sales.
